Reiki

REIKI is a laying on of hands, a touch healing system of incomparable power, gentleness, and ease. The act of laying on of hands on a body to provide pain relief and comfort is as old as instinct. Just as a mother will touch or kiss a child's "boo-boo", or an animal licks its wounds - so too, humans use touch to convey warmth, serenity and healing. Human touch also conveys love and caring.

Reiki is a spiritually-based healing process. It initiates the reversal of energy from imbalance to balance and the individual's state of mind, body, and emotions must be prepared for the process of healing. The person desiring healing is not only directly involved in the healing process: it is he/she that is the true healer.

Treatment is not just for emotional trauma, chronic illness or pain. Reiki brings balance to all living energy systems. Our lives are constantly filled with daily tasks and stresses that rob us of vital energy in the bio-magnetic field and the physical body. Reiki is a natural modality for stress reduction and energy replenishment. Weekly Reiki is parallel to receiving a massage.

Reiki has a long history showing healing of virtually every known illness and injury including major illnesses such as multiple sclerosis, cancer, and heart disease, in addition to skin problems, cuts, bruises, headaches, flu, sore throats, fatigue, etc. Always beneficial, it works to improve the effectiveness of all types of therapies - a marvelous adjunct to traditional or integrated medicine.

How does it work? When flow of the life force is disrupted, it causes diminished functioning within one or more of the organs and tissues of the physical body - this is the main cause of illness. Flow is responsive to feelings and thoughts; positive/optimistic thoughts increase flow and cause us to feel better. The body's energy is stimulated during treatment so cellular and spiritual growth or re-growth begins to gain ground. This re-establishes the function of organs and endocrine glands effected by illness or stress. Treatment is continued on a scheduled basis until the energy production of the body is self-generating.
